My story

From chronic pain to life's work

I know firsthand the struggles of living with chronic pain, and I want to share my personal journey with you. It all started with a devastating sports injury in high school, where I broke my foot and missed my senior year as captain of the soccer team. At the time, soccer was my identity, so this injury took me from something I dearly loved.

Determined to heal, I made the mistake of avoiding any activity that could aggravate my foot — which led to a much worse outcome than the original injury. I ended up herniating several discs in my back due to compensating for months on end, causing cumulative stress in my spine. In hindsight, I discovered that a passive approach wasn't the right path to healing.

Living with chronic back pain became a daily struggle, affecting my mobility and making me feel much older than I actually was. It was like being trapped in an 80-year-old's body in my 20s — waking up with back pain, barely able to stand upright for the first hours of the morning.

Fortunately, I made a life-changing decision in 2011 to become a health professional after graduating with an exercise science degree. This gave me the knowledge and tools to change my circumstances. Through years of training, experimenting, and learning, I've given myself the gift of health and feel I have everything I need to age gracefully.

Now, as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Personal Trainer, and Mobility Specialist with over a decade of experience, I'm here to guide you on your own transformative journey. Together, we can reclaim control over your body — combining all three modalities to make you stronger and more resilient than you would be on your own.
